I didnt del this account! Partly cos I have no idea how to, or can be bothere finding out. Brief update of my life: 1.) I live by myself now, in a unit. Best thing ever. Especially now I have dsl, and dont have to see anyone if i dont want to :) 2.) im 4 months off finishing this degree. Then honours project, which is all but confirmed totally. 3.) I've been single since sometime end of last year. But I'm not fussed. 4.) I got done for drink driving. Thought it was all going away, but got a letter last week saying there was a clerical error, and now I have new fines. And I'll lose my licence. Damn. 5.) Still work at same job. 6.) Have some really awesome friends nowadays. So yer, might use the good old LJ again. Current Music: The Shins

Hi. I went to see The Exploders last night. By myself. I still haven't decided if that makes a loser for doing so, or unbelievably cool. Anyway, they are most fantastic. Oh wait, awesome bit here: I lost my wallet a few weeks back at the venue, rockin' out to Les Savy Fav. Anyway, I went in last night and asked at the bar if by any chance it was there. It was, and still had money in it. So i celerated by spendng all the money at the bar. :)
Umm yes, Exploders, so damn good! And they are coming back in a month or so with The (most awesome according to Chels) Silents.
There are lots of good Australian bands. Some girl last night was trying to tell me that End of Fashion are in fact, not utterly shit. I failed to agree. She even attacked me with a texta. Yer, weird shit. The Vasco Era would have to be the band of the moment for me. Oh, and what is with all the FIRST YEAR UNI KIDS wearing Wolfmother tshirts???
But I don't want to talk about Australian bands, I want to know why all my favourite bands are American. This doesn't bother me so much, but I always thought I liked British bands more. But taking a look at what is out there, it's not surprising! Who has filled the gap left by the demise of The Libertines and McLusky? No-one. Bloc Party did well with thier first album, I quite like it. But then there is that shit band Franz Ferdinand, the most overrated Artic Monkeys (who arent bad, but terribly overrated) and other bands that can only squeeze out a good song or 2 but fail on the album side of things. I'll put down Maximo Park, Kaiser Chiefs, Futureheads (actually, no good songs by them), The Rakes etc.. all those kind of bands. I mean I'll listen to them, but not in back to back album fashion. That Gallagher lad was right in writing all these bands off as "they don't want to get big".
I'm more inclined to the Okkervil River, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Wrens and We Are Scientists sorta stuff. haha, as if they can all be put in the same group!
Anyway, this post is just me rambling, without any solid evidence. I can't even think of many bands at the moment cos I'm kinda hungover.
Oh well, back to uni this week. Extremely busy. And I feel entirely stupid. Especially since a second year subject I'm doing to make up points is harder than anything I did in 3rd year. And its full of KIDS (19 year olds) who are smarter than me.
Oh, a final note. Georgie and I are having a final go at things. We see each other once every 2 weeks or so. Which isn't the most promising thing really is it. Oh well, see what happens....

Hi kids. It's sunday, so that means im on the net checking emails and stuff at my parents place. Went to cousins wedding yesterday (thats number 3! and 2 younger than me!), in 42 degree heat. Oh man, wearing black, although the only option, is probably not the smartest thing to do. Man we drank so much beer. Me and my cousins, haha, what a team effort. We all got so blind, much to the dismay of our parents - some of which dont drink, or dont drink much. My 5 year old cousin even had a shot of beer :P We had the worst seats at the reception though. In the back corner. The table of people that "had" to be invited, and came out of "obligation". So it was me and my bro, 2 of our cousins and the high school friends. At least one was a model. And then the table next to us had the rest of our cousins on it. And we have a new uncle, called BRUCE now. HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. He did a reading in the service, and me and my bro lost it when he got up and said "My names Bruce, im the grooms uncle" So from that point, and later as we got more drunk, we kept calling out for Bruce to come over to our tables, shaking his hand, pouring him beers and giving him the honour of "Australian of the Day" - a prestigious award my brother & I give to someone everytime we get drunk together. Oh fun times.... Things are good otherwise. Besides breaking up with Georgie and a couple other things. Oh well, time will fix it all, and I'll be then able to concentrate on what is looking to be a damn good year! So many options opening up it feels like. I dunno if I'll be in adelaide much longer. Much love to Sania and Chelsea! i was thinking we so need to see each other this year! Have us some crazy times. I'm just doing hottest 100 voting now. 11 hours till it closes! Anyone else doing anything for it? I normally go to the cricket on australia day, but this year, bbq / piss up / hottest 100 betting! shall be rad! I cant be bothered selecting tracks that arent on list, so its not a real accurate portrayal of what i really thought where the best tracks of 2005, rather the best tracks that have been thrashed on JJJ :P Current Mood: hot
